Maia's first bath...and random positions

Going to make this a double post, so that I can try to get a little more caught up on pictures/posts.

A few days ago (26th), Maia had her first bath at home, courtesy of Grandmom. She wasn't all that fond of it, but newborns usually aren't. Though my mom was right, she DID find the hair-washing part soothing, when the water was being rinsed over her head. And after she was bathed, her hair fluffed up a little more, becoming even cuter. (I know, is that possible? somehow, yes.)

Here are a few random shots of Maia in some cute and random pictures. The first looks like she is "at rest" (vampire sleep?), and the second looks like a totally cozy nap position. And a close-up of that beautiful face.

Have you guys suffered from Maia picture overload yet? I didn't think we were taking all that many pictures, being so zonked and trying to keep up with everything, but surprisingly I have a good amount. I know we have some more recent ones, with Liam and some more visits from family/friends, but I'll have to get to that tomorrow, as it's time to settle down for the night and I still have a few things I need to do. I guess if you get tired of all the pictures...well, stop reading. But now there should be less of an onslaught of pictures, and more actual posts to go with a few cute/cool pictures. Tomorrow...pictures of Maia with Liam, plus a few others. Stay tuned!

Maia - Three Days Old (April 25th)

Even more pictures of Maia. I think after this, though, I am going to start posting by the week, or as I feel like it, and then after that we will see. I am going to try to get that Flickr site set up, so that I have a better place to put all the pictures, so that the blog isn't just tons and tons of pictures. But I am sure you guys don't mind that there are lots of pictures right now. :)

Without further ado...

Maia - Two Days Old (April 24th)

Maia came home on this day. Unfortunately, we were both tired and it was a whirlwind, so we didn't take any pictures of Maia getting packed up in her carseat or in her going-home outfit. There are pictures of her once she gets home, in her going-home outfit, so those will have to do. Sorry.
Oh, and it's Easter, and the outfit I had picked out happened to be an Easter outfit...totally didn't plan that, it was just the cutest one in the bunch. Heh.

Here are pictures of Maia's second day of life. Still at the hospital, with a few visitors.

Maia - Day of Delivery (April 22nd)

Okay, here are the first chunk of pictures, from her day of delivery. It's just going to be a lot of pictures placed on here without much text. Hopefully that won't look too messy. I guess I should look into getting an account on Yahoo Flickr just to store all her pictures. :)

My, how she grows...

Quick post (I promise, the ones with the pictures are coming, I swear).
We had a home care nurse stop by to check on us (figured it was free via insurance so why not). Maia now weighs 7lbs 1oz, which is 5oz up from her birth weight and 5.5oz up from where she was 3 days ago on Monday. Our little girl is eating well! She checked out well all around so she is pretty healthy. Yay! I must be doing things right.

And let me just say...I LOVE the breastfeeding!! I loved it with Liam and missed it after it ended. Not that I would have gone past the two year mark, but I missed it until probably around 3 years of age. When pregnant again, I kept thinking about it and remembering that close feeling of holding a little body so close, and those delicate little sucking feelings, and that overwhelming love during it all. So sweet.

Lovely little Maia.

Maia Elizabeth

Maia Elizabeth is finally here! She was born after a long labor, which ended with use of forceps but did result in the VBAC I was hoping for (no repeat c-section). Everyone is doing well, we are just getting used to each other.
I will be posting a lot more, but wanted to get an initial post out. I may be back-dating them to place when pictures were taken in the beginning (this post is actually 5 days late).

If you want to read about the birth story, check out this post on my personal blog.
